Aberystwyth Model United Nations Society

Aberystwyth Model UN Society is pleased to announce that we are planning to host a weekend conference from the 4th to the 6th of December 2009. Though this will only be our second ever large scale inter-university conference, our members bring a wealth of MUN and organisation experience and we are very confident of hosting a successful conference.

The International Politics Department at Aberystwyth University is the ideal institution to host a Model UN conference – the department (known among students and staff as simply “InterPol”) is the oldest of its kind in the world and currently employs some of the greatest thinkers and academics in the field of International Politics today. The AberMUN Society hopes to draw on the expertise and experience of these scholars, as well as the department’s PhD candidates, in creating a crisis which will permeate all the councils in our conference. We also intend to invite members of staff at the department to speak at our ceremonies and committees. With the InterPol Department providing the academic backbone of the contents of the conference, AberMUN 2009 promises to be both educational and engaging.

Registration is now open! Please fill out the attached form and send it back to abermun@gmail.com. Once it is received we will send you a conformation email back. We only have 75 spots so get your forms in early! Delegate fees will be £10 and there will be a committee dinner on Friday night at a local restaurant that will cost between £13 and £16. These can be paid after you have gotten conformation about your registration.
