Social Events
At AberMUN 2010 we hope to give all delegates the complete MUN experience, and as many of you know, that includes socials. Here are the details for all the activities we will be hosting:
Friday, 3rd of December:
Pub Crawl (9:00 PM)
Aberystwyth boasts one of the largest pubs per capita ratios in the UK. So naturally, the first night will entail a trip around a number of them, probably split into committees at first to avoid overcrowding and to cover the most ground. Locations to meet first will be given on the day, and Secretariat will be present to lead you to each destination. All of the pubs are within one square mile, so there won’t be too much walking. Hopefully the evening will give all of the delegates a chance to get to know one another in a slightly different atmosphere from the reception earlier in the evening. Don’t go to crazy though; Saturday is the big day of debating! That said, the club Why Not? is always just around the corner…
Saturday, 4th of December
Conference Dinner – SALT (8:30 PM) £9 meal charge
We will be taking over one of the classier pubs of Aberystwyth for a friendly meal in a chilled atmosphere. An evening of light socialisation will hopefully provide a good way to wind down after the tough day’s debating. After the meal, delegates are free to hang around all night or explore the town a bit further. We recommend the Castle Ruins as a fascinating place to visit which is practically in sight of SALT. For those of you who love the clubs, Why Not? near the clock tower and the Pier (its the one on the pier) both offer the opportunity to dance the night away.
Sunday, 5th of December
Post-conference drinks – Glengower Hotel (5:00 PM)
After all of the chaos is over, anyone who still wants to hang around for a few hours can find most of the Secretariat relaxing in the Glen, a pub with a beautiful view of the sea near Constitution Hill. Delegates who wish to explore the sights of Aber will be able to climb Consti Hill for an incredible view of the town.
